Back End Application Developer

Job Description:

We are looking for a result-oriented, proactive, and motivated individual to be part of our web development team. This individual will play an active role in all aspects of web development including managing existing customers as well as working to develop new technologies and applications. You will be working hand in hand with front-end developers and senior management. There is a strong possibility for promotion and upward growth within the company for talented individuals.

Core Responsibilities:

• Design, code, and document projects of various scope relating to ecommerce websites
• Provide technical assistance to engineers, designers, and managers as required
• Present technical issues and their business impact to management
• Work closely with online marketing teams to coordinate projects and communicate technical issues

Requirements:

• 5+ years of backend development/programming experience
• SQL Server skills (Joins, Aggregate Functions, Indexing)
• Classic ASP and DOTNET required
• STRONG familiarity as it relates to batch file setups to integrate with fulfillment houses
• STRONG familiarity as it relates to ecommerce and shopping cart functionality
• Hand-coded HTML, JSP, CSS, JavaScript, XML, XSL, image editing skills with Fireworks, Photoshop and other standard tools
• Java skills including using APIs (familiarity with fundamental classes: util, date, string, etc.)
• Experience with Web Analytics programs a plus (Omniture, Webtrends, Google Analytics, etc.)
• Ability to write clean, coherent code and to follow established coding style guidelines
• Excellent verbal and written skills, with proven ability to communicate complex ideas and to design and document projects in a clear, concise way
